Pressure to a riff

This directory simipipl (Similar People) I normally use to compare people who seem similar, but are actually different. Today however, I am using it to compare the sound of a pressure pump to a riff.

The sound that the DēLonghi® Dinamica Plus coffee machine makes when cleaning the water tubes, and when adding hot water for a coffee recipe like Americano, to my ears resembles the opening riff of the song ‘Hey, girl’ by Dutch rock band Gruppo Sportivo.

Here is a live performance of the track. Gruppo Sportivo was founded in 1976 by Hans Vandenburg and others. The group are still performing. Current singers are Inge Bonthond (right on stage, seen as left by the audience) and Lies Schilp, who are also known as The Bombitas.

I like the way they dance, especially Lies. It adds a lot to the total impression made by elements singing, playing, dancing, song writing and humour. They look so young, vivid and energetic, although they are actually somewhat older than you might think.

Lies reminds me of George Harrison’s lyric lines in ‘Something’:
“Something in the way she moves
/ attracts me like no other lover.”
although I don’t know her personally, and of course she was never my lover and never will be.
