G O L D !

On the previous page, I just presented to you, aye load of seemingly useful information, that I'd very much like you to pay me for, even though I make it available to the world of people, free of charge. Suggested physical shape of the contribution to my effort is: virtual gold as enabled by E-gold. If you don't already have an e-gold account, this is where you might venture to get one, for yourself ownly.

The suggested donation quantity for this page is 2 grains of gold. If grains is an unclear unit to you, look here for clarification. If after reading that table, it still isn't much clearer to you than before, I will plainly tell you here and now, that 1 grain of gold is worth about 68 dollar cents or 73 euro cents (as of 2 June 2002; gold price and currency rates may and will vary, as you may or may not know; 27 May 2008: it has risen to 1.91 USD and 1.22 EUR!).

If you might, by any or other chance whatsoever, be worried about security and privacy, read this first.

Get to know e-gold.

Open an e-gold account.

Feed money to an existing e-gold account.

Donate a oz. in the amount of 2 grains of gold for ../lingtics/lingtics.htm, or any other amount of your choice, including, but not limited to, just anything at all.

Return to where you came here from, to see if it might even be worth it at all.

Feeding money to an existing e-gold account.

Exchange Market Makers exist who are willing to convert e-gold into normal money in a bank account, and back. The best choice may vary with your location, among other factors.
I myself used IceGold. I posted the payment order to my bank on a Sunday afternoon, and received an e-mail notification that the e-gold was on my account on the following Thursday. The transfer went from my Dutch bank to a German correspondent bank, and from there to IceGold in Estonia, who then spent e-gold to my e-gold account.
This transaction cost me 9.50 EUR in bank charges. In addition, IceGold takes a small fee. Not something you do for every small amount, but when done occasionally, in larger chunks, it isn't all that expensive. From then on the e-gold transfers themselves are incomparibly cheap!

NEW (March 2002)

Ice-Gold now also accepts normal bank transfers to local accounts in various European countries. This makes feeding an E-gold a lote cheaper and faster.

UPDATE (28 March 2008)

Unfortunately, Ice-Gold has closed down its business.
